One of our primary goals is preparing players to compete and succeed at the college level. We do this by selecting coaches who have played or coached at the collegiate or professional level. Additionally, we schedule competition with teams we know will push our players to improve their own skills. Lastly, through our educational seminars we provide players and families with the information they need to make smart choices regarding college recruiting.

 

Coast to Coast currently has alumni playing at every level of college baseball.....and even professionally. The following C2C alums have been selected during the MLB Draft or signed a pro contract.

Mr. Ritter:

I was fortunate enough to be able to travel and play in Germany and Holland with your program in the summer of 2003. I was looking at your alumni page and noticed that all of the information was about players going onto the pros and college (rightfully so) but the experience is also helpful for those trying to get into the other side of Major League Baseball.

[For several reasons] I was unable to play at the college level but went to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated (this last spring) with a BS in Sports Management. UMass has such a strong sports management program that I had to apply directly to the major in high school and had to submit a resume about my sports experience. But even more so, I have had to apply for internships to have any chance in the baseball operations world.

Since I lacked playing experience at the college level, being able to say that I played overseas against national teams helped to open doors and get me initial interviews. It helped me get an internship with Cal Ripken Amateur Baseball last year and my current internship with Baseball Info Solutions. I hope to move onto an MLB team for next season once this is done. But I just wanted to point out how this program can help even if your playing career ends sooner than one would have hoped.
